Goals in the Library
Learning Goals as a Whole School in the Library:
Our library reading cultivates a lifelong love of reading, drives high academic achievement, and builds a vibrant community of learners. By bridging classroom curriculum with hands-on experiences and digital tools, we empower students from Pre-K through grade 5 to inquire, include, collaborate, curate, explore, and engage their minds.

Delaware Primary School Librarian
My name is Ms. Tanisha, and I am proud to be your school librarian here at Delaware Primary —
My goals as a librarian are to create a safe and welcoming environment where people come in and want to stay. This space is to promote accessibility and inclusivity, support lifelong learning and discovery, and foster community engagement. I am committed to providing equitable access to all resources and services including physical accessibility, digital inclusivity, and culturally responsive programming that celebrates diversity. A vital part of my mission is working with students- those who need resources and opportunities by helping students identify their wants and empowering them to find solutions on how to achieve and improve their lives. I believe in the power of the library to be an agent of change, helping communities, influencing how they think and act because I am a firm believer in the transformation of belonging, connection, and knowledge.
Checking Out Policy
We ask that you make sure your child places their book in a safe spot when bringing it home. If books are lost or damaged beyond repair, we ask that you call Ms. Tanisha at 315-435-4542. Library books are expensive! However, we ask you to make sure your child is taking care of their book so another child can use it. We never want cost to be a factor in the ability for your child to check out books.
Search the Library
Battle of the Books (BOB) is a regional competition where students form teams to read and study a specific set of novels over several months. They then participate in "Jeopardy-style" tournaments at various levels, starting at the building level and progressing to district, regional, and super regional competitions. The primary purpose of BOTB is to foster students’ love of reading by introducing them to books by acclaimed authors.
All titles are available in Delaware’s library and in the Sora App. 
Sora is a digital reading platform by OverDrive that lets K-12 students borrow and read ebooks and audiobooks from their school library.
